Dear friend,
this is an email that I am sending especially to you. You have received all our newsletters and experienced how difficult the search for a great site can be, and now you have the chance to be part of the successful end.
We now need 15 to 20 people to give 10,000 euros for a place they want to use for themselves - within the community and its rules.
Because we have found a great piece of land and we want to buy it. It is ideal for a community, because with more than 31 hectares (310,000sqm, equivalent to 310 metres wide and one kilometre long) it is big enough that everyone can have a small part for their use, delimited and distanced enough from the others. The terrain has a lot of forest, is on a slope and offers a wonderful view, both to the Atlantic and inland. The sun rises inland in the morning and shines on the hillside (and your cottages). And in the evening it can be seen off into the atlantic with a drum circle on the ridge. It's a climate zone that many love because it can't get too hot, but it also doesn't have a real frost in winter. It is less than 30 minutes to the most beautiful beaches of the Alentejo and with São Teotónio there is a small town nearby that offers good shopping facilities. With Aljezur and Odeceixe, wonderful beaches are also close by for those who love surfing, and the Algarve can be reached within an hour (two hours by train). Lisbon is 2.5 hours by car and 3.5 by train.
There are two 180sqm ruins on the land that could be used to build communal areas and otherwise you can put all sorts of - natural - little houses (hobbit, clay, tree, etc. houses) on them. Water is available from natural springs and a possible dam construction that stops the rain falling in winter and could serve as a swimming pond. Electricity is nearby and with mobile data (40€/month unlimited) you can receive internet.
The land should be administered by a foundation after purchase, we are thinking of the "Grundstiftung" of the community "Schloss Tempelhof", so that the land is not owned by individuals.
Already with about 5,000 Euros one can create a cosy little house, which can offer all amenities with kitchen and bathroom. A cooperative will manage it all. Apart from that, the concept in English should serve as an approximate guideline for what we want to do, namely meeting centre, yoga, permaculture, Ayurveda, breathwork, holistic healing, etc. pp. (By the way, the concept is not yet fully adapted to this site here and of course has no budget figures yet).
We are also happy about friends who simply want to help us with a donation to build up the site and will also find a way to thank them (for example, the possibility to spend the summer holiday here on the Atlantic coast of Portugal). And we are happy to have helpers who can also build a future here through constant help.
Here in the Alentejo, there is a lot going on in terms of land purchases. Americans, Brazilians, Argentines, Chinese and many Europeans are buying in bulk and the prices are going through the roof. We are all the more pleased that we have found a site that is still really cheap at 33 cents per square metre.

dies ist eine Mail, die ich gerade speziell an Dich richte. Du hast unsere ganzen Newsletter bekommen und erlebt, wie schwierig die Suche nach einem tollen Gelände sein kann und Du hast jetzt die Chance beim erfolgreichen Ende mitzumachen.
Wir brauchen jetzt 15 bis 20 Personen, die 10.000 Euro für einen Platz geben, den sie für sich - innerhalb der Gemeinschaft und deren Regeln - nutzen wollen.
Denn wir haben ein tolles Stück Land gefunden und wollen es kaufen. Es ist ideal für eine Gemeinschaft, da es mit mehr als 31 Hektar (310.000qm, entspricht 310 Meter Breite und einem Kilometer Länge) groß genug ist, dass jeder einen kleinen abgegrenzten und vom Anderen genug entfernten Teil für seine Nutzung haben kann. Das Terrain hat viel Wald, ist an einem Hang und bietet eine wunderbare Aussicht, sowohl zum Atlantik als auch in das Landesinnere. Die Sonne geht morgens im Landesinneren auf und bescheint den Hang (und Eure Häuschen). Und abends kann sie mit einem Drum-Circle auf dem Bergrücken verabschiedet werden. Es ist einer Klimazone, die viele deswegen lieben, weil sie nicht zu heiß werden kann, aber im Winter auch keinen richtigen Frost hat. Es sind keine 30 Minuten zu den schönsten Stränden des Alentejo und mit São Teotónio gibt es eine kleine Stadt in der Nähe, die gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten bietet. Mit Aljezur und Odeceixe sind wunderbare Strände auch für die Freundes des Surfsports in der Nähe und die Algarve ist innerhalb einer Stunde (zwei Stunden mit der Bahn) erreichbar. Nach Lissabon sind es 2,5 Stunden mit dem Auto und 3,5 mit der Bahn.
Es gibt zwei Ruinen mit 180qm auf dem Land, aus denen man Gemeinschaftsräume bauen könnte und ansonsten kann man alle möglichen - natürlichen - kleinen Häuschen (Hobbit-, Lehm-, Baum-, etc. Häuser) darauf setzen. Wasser gibt es aus natürlichen Quellen und einem möglichen Dammbau, der den im Winter fallenden Regen aufhält und als Schwimmteich dienen könnte. Strom ist in der Nähe und mit mobilen Daten (40€/Monat unlimitiert) kann man Internet empfangen.
Das Land soll nach dem Kauf von einer Stiftung verwaltet werden, wir denken dabei an die "Grundstiftung" der Gemeinschaft "Schloss Tempelhof", damit das Land nicht im Besitz von Einzelpersonen ist.
Schon mit ca. 5.000 Euro kann man sich ein gemütliches Häuschen schaffen, das mit Küche und Bad alle Annehmlichkeiten bieten kann. Eine Kooperative wird das alles verwalten. Ansonsten soll das Konzept in deutsch als ungefähre Richtschnur dafür stehen, was wir machen wollen, nämlich Begegnungszentrum, Yoga, Permakultur, Ayurveda, Breathwork, gesamtheitliche Heilung, etc. pp. (Das Konzept ist übrigens noch nicht voll an dieses Gelände hier angepasst und hat natürlich noch keine Budgetzahlen.)
Wir freuen uns auch über Freunde, die uns mit einer Zuwendung einfach nur beim Aufbau des Geländes helfen wollen und werden auch für diese eine Möglichkeit des Dankes finden (beispielsweise die Möglichkeit, den Sommerurlaub hier an der Atlantikküste Portugals zu verbringen). Und wir freuen uns über Helfer, die sich hier über stetige Hilfe auch eine Zukunft aufbauen können.
Hier im Alentejo geht gerade ganz krass die Post ab, was Landkauf betrifft. Von Amerikanern, Brasilianern, Argentiniern, Chinesen und vielen Europäern wird gerade ganz groß eingekauft und die Preise gehen durch die Decke. Umso mehr freuen wir uns, dass wir ein Gelände gefunden haben, das mit 33 Cent pro Quadratmeter noch richtig preiswert ist.
